Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking an Employee in Charge (EIC) to deliver on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and industry partners.

The role requires coordinating train movements using tablets and mobile devices while maintaining clear safety communications. Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in rail; be able to travel extensively; hold a valid driver's license; and complete required safety trainings.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with tablets, smartphones, and communications tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to travel for extended periods; months at a time.
• Valid driver's license and clean record.
• Minimum 2 years in a railroad company, preferably MOW.
• Ability to complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety: set up derails, track signs, and safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate safety status.
• Conduct mandatory briefings with all crew members before entry to track.
• Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
