Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge (EIC) in Meridian, MS to deliver critical on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, and state DOTs. The role requires coordinating train movements, enforcing safety policies, and reporting field activities daily.

You will travel extensively (50–85%), set up safety measures, brief crews, and communicate with dispatchers to maintain safe work sites. NRSS offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires proficiency with tablets, smartphones, and communication tools to coordinate train movements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Able to travel for extended periods, sometimes months at a time.
• Valid driver's license and High School Diploma or equivalent; railroad experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety setup of derails, track signs, and safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and document rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination and supervision.
• Maintain radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews.
• Conduct safety briefings with all crew members before entering the track.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
