Job summary

RailPros, Inc. is seeking a Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) to provide on-site roadway worker protection on and around live railroad tracks. You will coordinate job sites, communicate with dispatchers and engineers, and ensure safety compliance.

This full-time role requires extensive travel across multiple states, with per diems and mileage reimbursements. A GED and at least 2 years in track/construction are required, plus CSX On Track Worker rules certification.

Qualifications

  • GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years in track and/or construction.
  • CSX FCI On Track Worker and Operating Rules certification.
  • Proficiency with radio communications and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work on and around live railroad tracks and manage on-track protection.

Responsibilities

  • Provide jobsite protection per railroad rules with clear radio communication.
  • Coordinate with dispatchers and engineers; manage limits during train movements.
  • Conduct daily job briefings and ensure safety compliance on site.
  • Submit electronic forms for flagging assignments, daily reports, and necessary paperwork.
  • Handle signs, derailments, and equipment weighing 15–90 pounds as needed.
  • Participate in safety training and qualification activities.
  • Maintain open communication with RWIC supervisors and project managers.
  • Uphold integrity, accountability, and company policies.
