Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge in Los Angeles, CA to deliver on-track safety services for railroads, transit systems, and state DOTs.

The role requires coordinating train movements, safety briefings, and strict policy enforcement on active rights-of-way. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years in a railroad environment, strong communication, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Requires proficiency with tablets, smartphones and communication tools to coordinate train movements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively; months at a time may be necessary.
• Valid Driver's License and a High School diploma or equivalent are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as set up of derails, track signs, and other safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report any rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination to crews.
• Maintain radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate safety status.
• Conduct mandatory, clear briefings with all crew members before entry to track.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
