Job summary

Olive + Oak is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our front-of-house leadership team. This hands-on role focuses on guiding the team, delivering exceptional hospitality, and ensuring smooth service on a busy floor.

The AM will coach FOH staff, participate in scheduling, lead pre-shift meetings, and partner with leadership to uphold service standards, safety, and wine knowledge across programs.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Fine-dining or elevated full-service experience and wine knowledge are valuable.
• Curiosity, leadership ability, and willingness to learn matter.

Responsibilities

• Lead the floor during service, anticipating needs and helping the team stay organized, focused, and supported.
• Create an exceptional guest experience through proactive hospitality and thoughtful problem-solving.
• Coach and develop FOH employees while maintaining a positive and professional workplace.
• Lead engaging pre-shift meetings to prepare the team for successful service.
• Participate in scheduling, staffing decisions, and day-to-day restaurant operations.
• Help train and onboard new FOH employees and reinforce service standards.
• Maintain consistency in service, restaurant procedures, cleanliness, and operational expectations.
• Partner with the General Manager, Proprietor, and other leadership team members.
• Support responsible alcohol service, food safety, workplace safety, and other compliance standards.
• Develop strong knowledge of our food, wine, and beverage programs and share that knowledge with the FOH team.
• Step in where needed; this is a restaurant leadership role, not an office-only management position.
