Job summary

Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield Township, MI is seeking a Venue Manager to coordinate operations for performances, programs, and rental events at The Berman Center and other JCC venues. You will ensure safe, professional execution and collaborate with artists, clients, and staff.

The role requires an Associate degree or equivalent, with at least two years in a performing arts or event setting, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience in performing arts, venue operations, event production, hospitality, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least two years of experience in a performing arts organization, event venue, production, hospitality, or service environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple events, deadlines, and changing priorities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Google Workspace; experience with ticketing, scheduling, or event-management systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate venue operations for performances, presentations, rehearsals, JCC programs, special events, and rental events, from planning through event closeout.
• Serve as primary on-site operational contact for artists, presenters, production teams, JCC departments, event clients, vendors, and venue staff once event details are assigned.
• Develop and maintain event schedules, run-of-show documents, production calendars, and internal event information; communicate timing, access, setup, technical, staffing, and building needs to relevant departments.
• Coordinate technical requirements with the Technical Director and production staff, including lighting, sound, video, streaming, and other gear.
• Ensure venues, stages, backstage areas, dressing rooms, and front-of-house spaces are prepared and safe for each event.
• Coordinate artist and presenter logistics, including hospitality, dressing-room preparation, meals, hotel arrangements, ground transportation, travel details, and itineraries per approved budgets.
• Coordinate event staffing, including front-of-house personnel, ushers, volunteers, and other hospitality support; assist with recruiting and scheduling with managers.
