Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Third Party Vendor Surveillance Inspector for Lexington, VA to act as the on-site quality representative at supplier facilities. The role involves executing inspection criteria per ACC checklists to ensure chillers meet structural, mechanical, and electrical standards before shipment.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in vendor inspection or auditing, familiarity with welding standards, ISO 9001/AWS knowledge, and strong ability to read schematics and design drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED; trade school or university diploma accepted.
• 5+ years of third-party vendor inspection, expediting or auditing experience.
• Knowledge of Welding/Brazing/Soldering standards; ability to visually identify defects.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, P&IDs, specifications and design drawings.
• 5+ years in Manufacturing, Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial or similar industries.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 / AWS standards; or ISO 9001 Certification.
• Understanding of Quality Systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
• HVAC experience.
• Comfortable using mobile devices to complete checklists.

Responsibilities

• Site Quality Inspections: document compliance to in-process and final checks per ACC software.
• Defect Logging: document any non-conformances in ACC with photos to drive supplier accountability.
• Foster Collaborative Environment: partner with supplier to ensure equipment is manufactured in compliance with specs.
