Job summary

Mannik Smith Group is seeking a Resident Engineer to act as the chief on-site authority for highway, bridge, and infrastructure projects in Camden, NJ. You will manage field inspection teams, enforce contract plans, oversee project safety and traffic control, and handle daily contract administration.

Qualified candidates have NICET Level IV or 10+ years in heavy highway construction management, plus familiarity with NJDOT/NJTA standards and CM systems.

Qualifications

• NICET Level IV certification or 10+ years of experience in heavy highway construction management.
• Familiarity with NJDOT or NJTA design standards and CM systems.
• Ability to enforce contract plans, supervise inspection staff, and manage documentation.

Responsibilities

• On-site field management: enforce contract documents and supervise inspection staff.
• Safety & traffic: monitor work zone safety and OSHA/regulatory compliance.
• Contract & document administration: track quantities, logs, RFIs, and submittals.
• Stakeholder coordination: liaise with agencies, design teams, contractors, and utilities.
• Communication: convey complex technical information to clients and team members.
