Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have some college coursework or related experience in real estate, title abstracting, or a similar field.
• 1–3+ years Title experience preferred; on-site work in Des Moines, IA required.
• Proficient in researching title documents, tax cards, and vesting/chain of title records.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to prepare clear reports.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Examine mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, plat books, maps, contracts to verify legal descriptions and ownership.
• Research legal materials to aid decision making and prepare reports on title encumbrances.
• Pull tax cards from courthouses and locate tax cards online.
• Prepare Chain of Title and Limited Title Certificates.
• Post title files according to project procedures and deadlines.
• Work on-site in Des Moines, IA with office staff and clients.
