Job summary

Northwestern Mutual’s Technology Solutions & Support Consultant is an on-site role embedded within network offices nationwide, focused on advancing financial advisors' sales effectiveness through innovative technology solutions.

This dual role optimizes technology configurations, drives product integration, and delivers customized consulting to align digital strategies with business objectives and foster adoption of Northwestern Mutual's technology suite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years related experience including consultation with professionals in financial services.
• Experience coaching and training professionals.
• Technology support experience preferred.
• Ability to understand sales-focused software technology and its benefits.
• Advanced knowledge in computer, mobile device hardware, and software troubleshooting.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Proven ability to consult and drive measurable improvements in an outcome-based model.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate groups.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with financial advisors and leadership to understand objectives and needs.
• Assist advisors in using Northwestern Mutual's technology tools effectively.
• Utilize knowledge of computers, devices, hardware, software configurations, OS, and LAN.
• Understand insurance and investment sales cycles to integrate tech into processes.
• Apply consulting strategies to demonstrate technology benefits clearly.
• Provide advanced project consultation and subject matter expertise to enterprise partners.
• Collect feedback from advisors and relay to Home Office leadership.
• Manage escalations and project management of tech implementations and upgrades.
• Identify inefficiencies and suggest simple tech applications to improve practices.
• Participate in planning sessions to support goal achievement and productivity.
• Assist in delivering training on technology best practices.
• Prepare users for new deployments with training and communication of benefits.
• Handle vendor management of third-party technology solutions providers.
• Track engagement activities and attend training sessions to expand skills.
• Maintain proficiency in complex hardware and software through ongoing education.
