Job summary

TSI Seats Inc. is a Seattle-based aerospace company providing seating systems for commercial aircraft. We seek an experienced on-site technical specialist to support OEM facilities across the United States, perform assembly and rework, and coordinate with engineering and quality teams on the shop floor.

You will analyze nonconformities, apply drawings and SB/AMM documentation, and assist with inspections and customer acceptance. Strong communication and travel readiness are essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, Aviation Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years hands-on field experience in aircraft component manufacturing, MRO, or on-site support.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Experience with testing equipment, torque applications, sheet metal, and logistics.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems and NCR processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support at OEM facilities in the United States.
  • Perform assembly, modification, and rework on aircraft seat and galley systems.
  • Work with OEM, customer, quality, and engineering teams on the shop floor.
  • Analyze fit, function, cosmetic quality, and nonconformities; perform rework per procedures.
  • Support inspections, conformity checks, and customer acceptance processes.
  • Prepare technical reports on deviations, rework, and quality activities.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation safety and health standards; maintain reports.
  • Travel ~15% domestically and frequent Seattle-area travel.

Job Description

  • Provide on-site technical support at OEM facilities in the United States
  • Perform assembly, modification, and rework activities for aircraft seat and galley systems
  • Represent TSI Seats on the shop floor by working directly with OEM, customer, quality, and engineering teams
  • Analyze fit, function, cosmetic quality, and assembly-related nonconformities, and perform rework in accordance with approved procedures
  • Apply CMM, engineering drawings, Service Bulletins, and work instructions
  • Support FAI, incoming inspection, conformity inspection, and customer acceptance processes
  • Analyze recurring field issues and provide technical feedback to engineering, quality, and production teams to support customer requirements
  • Perform all activities in compliance with AS9100, FAA, and all applicable aviation quality and safety requirements
  • Prepare reports related to technical deviations, rework activities, quality activities, and customer findings
  • Ensure customer relationship management, facility management, inventory control, fixed asset management, and operational sustainability at the TSI Seats facility
  • Coordinate with customers and suppliers while managing reporting and operational requirements
  • Monitor galley, seat assembly, facility maintenance, and spare parts processes
  • Verify equipment calibration status and validity
  • Perform warehouse receiving inspections, final quality inspections, and shipment processes
  • Approximately 15% domestic travel, with frequent local travel within the Seattle area
  • Support overtime and OEM three-shift operations based on project schedules
  • Hold a valid driver's license and be able to drive
  • Work in compliance with aviation safety requirements
  • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the United States without current or future company-sponsored immigration sponsorship. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position.
  • Associate degree or technical high school diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, Aviation Technology, Mechanical / Electrical / Structural Systems, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on field experience in aircraft component manufacturing, MRO organizations, or on-site support bases
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Experience using manual, powered, and specialized hand tools (e.g., torque wrench, caliper, micrometer)
  • Knowledge of test equipment and manufacturing system principles
  • Experience in aircraft seat and galley service, modification, troubleshooting, rework, and repair processes
  • Knowledge of torque applications, measurement techniques, sheet metal work, material properties, and logistics processes
  • General knowledge of BOM, on-wing operations, nonconformance, and traceability
  • Familiarity with OEM interior standards, installation practices, galley composite structures, task cards, CMM, AMM, and Service Bulletin documentation
  • Experience working directly with OEM, customer, quality, and production teams in a field environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and shop-floor problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems, NCRs, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and conformity inspection processes
  • Full compliance with occupational health, safety, and aviation safety requirements
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and perform technical analyses
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, ERP systems, and OEM web-based supplier portals
  • Basic knowledge of human factors principles
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, strong communication skills, and a collaborative team player with excellent stress and time management skills, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and safety
  • Willing to work long-term in Seattle, USA, and capable of representing TSI Seats professionally at customer sites
