Job summary

San Diego State University in San Diego seeks a Cashier (Accounting Technician I) to support the University Bursar's Office. You will process and balance payments, assist students and families with account questions, and provide accurate, friendly service both in person and virtually.

The role is full-time on campus with standard hours; CSU salary ranges apply and benefits are provided. The position requires one year of clerical accounting or financial record-keeping and strong customer service

Qualifications

• Equivalent to one year of clerical accounting or financial record-keeping experience.
• Any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
• General knowledge of financial record-keeping, mathematical and office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cashiering, customer service and handling payments.
• Process and balance payments for student fees, parking, housing, transcripts, graduation.
• Explain university fees, cashiering policies, billing, financial aid, registration, and related deadlines to students and families.
• Provide customer service in person, by phone, and via Zoom while assisting with payment issues.
• Back office support and processing third‑party payments.
• Review Bursar's Office documents and content for accuracy and updates.
