PCI Federal (PCIF) seeks skilled weld trade assistant to support welding, grinding, and joint prep on vessel projects. You will follow directions, maintain quality and safety, and assist with inspections and NDE preparation.

The role requires experience in welding, arc gouging, and grinding, with ability to pass B Class certifications and adapt to shift changes in a demanding shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as a Trades Assistant or 1 year related experience in similar industry.
• Completion of Austal USA approved additional or accelerated Structural Welding training may count toward experience.
• Must pass the GMAW Aluminum B Class and/or FCAW Steel B Weld Certification and pre-employment test.
• Proficient in grinding, gouging, and NDE prep.
• Must read and follow instructions and demonstrate safety compliance.

Responsabilités

• Understand directions and follow instructions.
• Accountable for daily work completion and quality signatures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization on job sites.
• Perform grinding and joint preparation for NDE and inspections.
• Monitor environment for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Train lower-skilled workers as needed.
• Support shift flexibility and additional tasks as required.
