Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Site-Based Purchasing Manager for a growing structural steel and bridge fabrication business in Pennsylvania. You will forecast material requirements, coordinate steel orders with mills and suppliers, and manage purchasing, inventory and traceability to support major projects.

This on-site role requires strong supplier negotiation, ERP experience and the ability to work closely with production and operations to prevent shortages and keep schedules on track.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing for structural steel or heavy manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of steel products, mills, and service-centre purchasing.
• Experience planning around production schedules.
• ERP experience and material traceability.

Responsibilities

• Forecast material requirements across active and upcoming projects.
• Coordinate steel orders with mills, service centres and suppliers.
• Manage purchasing activity, inventory levels and material availability.
• Plan deliveries around fabrication and production schedules.
• Maintain accurate material traceability and purchasing documentation.
• Monitor lead times and address potential shortages or delays.
• Develop strong relationships with suppliers and external partners.
• Improve purchasing data, reporting and ERP accuracy.
• Coordinate closely with production, project management and operations.
• Support a growing fabrication business through improved purchasing processes.
