Qualifications

• Associate degree or current student in accounting.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Familiarity with bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with both physical and electronic records.
• Willingness to travel to client locations in Waukegan and Chicago.

Responsibilities

• Work on-site at client locations, primarily in Waukegan/Lake County, with some travel to downtown Chicago.
• Scan, organize, and upload receipts, invoices, and statements.
• Review transactions to ensure proper supporting documentation is attached.
• Attach documentation to transactions in QuickBooks Online or other systems.
• Identify missing documentation and obtain it from clients.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Research discrepancies and correct accounting entries.
• Review coding/classifications for accuracy.
• Maintain the general ledger and assist with month‑end close.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
• Assist with annual audits and audit prep processes.
• Maintain organized physical and electronic files.
