Century Mechanical Holdings in Waterbury, CT is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our on-site accounting team. This role supports accounting operations through the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of financial records.

You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, AP/AR, and assist with audits, with GAAP compliance and strong internal controls. Candidates must be US-based, authorized to work in the U.S., and able to work on site in Waterbury.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience required.
• Must have QuickBooks Online experience.
• Experience in construction, HVAC, plumbing, or related skilled trades industry preferred.
• On-site in Waterbury, CT is required.
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting.
• Support the preparation of internal financial statements and reports.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Provide documentation and support for audits.
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting records.
• Identify and recommend process improvements as appropriate.
