Job summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer to lead and administer the site safety program at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, CA. The role provides full-time, on-site safety oversight to ensure a safe, compliant work environment and government-accepted APP.

You will enforce EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, and contract safety requirements, conduct inspections, lead safety meetings, and coordinate with site personnel and government reps.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience or three with CSP or safety degree.
• Completion of EM 385-1-1 40-hour course; ongoing training every four years.
• Must meet EM 385-1-1 Section 1 requirements with 01.A.17.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, implement, maintain, and enforce the APP and Safety Program.
• Ensure EM 385-1-1, 29 CFR 1926, OSHA requirements compliance.
• Serve as on-site SSHO and coordinate with designated representatives.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and corrective actions.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training.
• Investigate incidents and maintain required documentation.
