Job summary

Callan Marine Ltd. is seeking a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) for the Galveston project to lead safety compliance onsite.

Responsibilities include developing safety plans, conducting inspections, delivering safety education, and enforcing the Accident Prevention Plan to protect workers on site. The role requires OSHA 30 Construction, at least 5 years of safety experience, USACE approval, and the ability to work remotely on project locations.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction certification required.
• Safety courses and certificates within the last 5 years.
• Minimum 5 years of safety experience.
• Must be able to obtain TWIC.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work away from home on remote project locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and/or review the Emergency Action Plan and JHA for the project.
• Provide on-site safety education to crew members and conduct toolbox talks.
• Manage, implement, and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan on site.
• Maintain First Aid Logs and safety reference materials on site.
• Ensure sub-contractor safety and health compliance on the project.
• Conduct mishap investigations and complete accident reports.
• Coordinate safety issues with Quality Control Manager and Site Superintendent.
• Participate in safety and environmental initiatives to comply with regulations.
