Job summary

DAP Construction Management is seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to support federal construction projects, including work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and other government agencies on active installations.

The SSHO will implement and enforce safety programs in line with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements, with a strong field presence on site. You will lead daily safety meetings, conduct JHAs, monitor compliance, manage safety documentation, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years SSHO experience on federal construction projects.
• Direct experience with USACE (Army Corps of Engineers) projects preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and OSHA safety standards.
• OSHA 30-hour certification (40-hour preferred).
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification current.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work on active construction sites, including military installations.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans per EM 385-1-1.
• Monitor daily construction activities for OSHA/USACE compliance.
• Conduct daily safety inspections, JHAs, and risk assessments.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and orientations.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately.
• Maintain safety documentation, logs, and reports.
• Coordinate with Government Safety Officers and project leadership.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety requirements.
