Job summary

DLS Engineering is seeking a System Administrator III (Splunk Admin) for the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) program, located on-site at Gunter Annex in Montgomery, Alabama. The role focuses on deploying and managing Splunk infrastructure, securing data, and ensuring high performance within a Red Hat environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Splunk admin experience, strong RHEL skills, and an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with Splunk performing systems administration in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment (RHEL).
• Strong familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security frameworks, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and manage Splunk clustered infrastructure on RHEL, including indexers, search heads, forwarders, and deployment servers.
• Administer Splunk Apps and develop or extend Apps for specialized functionality.
• Develop and implement data ingestion, parsing, indexing strategies for Splunk data repositories.
• Collaborate with teams to customize searches, reports, dashboards, and Splunk configurations.
• Create documentation covering architecture, configurations, monitoring, alerts, troubleshooting, and checklists.
