Job summary

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a full-time, on-site Special Education Teacher for a school-based position in Hot Springs, SD. You will provide SPED instruction and case management for K-5 students and collaborate with district staff and TheraPeds.

The role requires a valid Teaching Certification in Special Education and SD state SPED licensure, strong communication skills, and dedication to students with diverse needs. Competitive pay and guaranteed hours are offered.

Qualifications

• Teaching Certification, Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special Education
• State License as SPED teacher
• 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred
• Experience working with children
• Organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Deliver instruction tailored to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
• Collaborate with parents, educators, and specialists to ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning and support.
• Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies to improve outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress to inform ongoing instruction and planning.
• Create a welcoming, safe, and productive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and learning.
• Provide guidance and support to classroom staff in implementing educational strategies for students with special needs.
