Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) is seeking a Software Test Engineer for the Integrated Training Systems Software Development team in Virginia Beach, VA. You will design, develop, test, and deploy the Advanced Training Domain (ATD), a shipboard trainer to enhance fleet readiness and support mission-critical training environments.

You will guide hybrid software, web, and hardware products from initial specification through deployment, performing Level 3 test procedures and regression testing,

Qualifications

• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
• 3 years of experience in systems engineering
• Working knowledge of Unix and Linux platforms
• Previous experience with C++ and Java software
• Experience in implementation and testing of GUI
• Ability to develop a task plan and then execute the plan
• Security+ certification (or must obtain within 3 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Integrating network operating systems, application software, and hardware components.
• Managing the full development lifecycle of complex software and hardware systems, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and sustainment.
• Developing and executing Level 3 Test Procedures in alignment with Software Requirement Specifications (SRS) or equivalent documentation.
• Performing regression testing in lab environments and aboard ship when required.
• Providing on-site installation and system verification support (up to 10% travel).
