Job summary

VectorVest in Cornelius, North Carolina, is seeking a hands-on Software Development Team Lead to mentor a small backend team and stay coding 30–50% of the time. You will own delivery flow, test automation, CI/CD, and push AI tooling into development.

This is an on-site role with two-week sprints and deployment twice weekly. The ideal candidate will combine leadership with architectural ownership, strong C#/.NET experience, and a track record of delivering robust services in Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years leading a development team as a hands-on lead, tech lead or engineering manager.
• Deep C#/.NET backend experience, including REST API design and backward compatibility.
• Strong SQL Server: schema design, query performance, migrations and rollback.
• Production experience on Azure, and hands-on ownership of Azure DevOps or a directly comparable toolchain.

Responsibilities

• Run the agile sprint process: grooming, planning, standup, close-out and retrospective; maintain cadence.
• Own the development board and ensure items are well-defined and testable in Azure DevOps.
• Assign and balance work across the team; decide sequencing with priorities.
• Mentor developers and grow the bench; conduct code reviews and set merge standards.
• Own hiring input, onboarding and performance feedback for the team.
• Lead architecture and design decisions across services; own API contracts and data schema changes.
• Be the escalation point for production issues in the team’s services.
• Define and instrument engineering metrics; build dashboards and report them.
