Job summary

U.S. Venture in Appleton, WI seeks a Software Engineer 1 to build, test, and ship software in a modern AI-augmented environment.

You will code, test, and maintain software within a product-centric, agile team, collaborating with engineers, product owners, SREs, and Client Experience to improve the indirect tax compliance experience for IGEN’s clients. This on-site role engages in requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and continuous improvement while embracing AI tooling and fast

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience or relevant internship/project.
• Experience with C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java.
• Web development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs; familiarity with .NET stack.
• Relational databases and SQL basics.
• Knowledge of Git and Agile methods.
• Experience using AI coding agents in development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, design, code, debug, and review applications with AI tooling.
• Apply testing techniques to ensure quality and maintainability.
• Participate in agile scrum ceremonies and continuous delivery.
• Improve performance, usability, and automation of applications.
• Support, maintain, and document applications and interfaces.
• Integrate software with existing systems.
• Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations.
