Apple is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Agentic Developer Platform in Seattle, WA. You will build AI-assisted developer tooling that powers hundreds of Apple engineers, designing scalable backend services and AI agents to streamline code generation, reviews, testing, and deployment.

You’ll work across teams to deliver reliable, high-performance systems that evolve with our AI-enabled workflows. Ideal candidates have 2+ years building backend systems with Java and Python, plus hands-on

Qualifications

2+ years of industry experience building backend systems.
Strong programming skills in Java and Python.
Experience developing AI agents using LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack or Claude Agent SDK.
Background in integrating AI systems into developer tools or productivity platforms.
Experience with databases and scalable service architectures.
Excellent communication and collaboration.
BS, MS or PhD in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize scalable backend services and APIs in Java and Python.
Collaborate with project managers to gather requirements and translate into solutions.
Integrate AI-driven tools into production systems to automate workflows and insights.
Create and maintain AI agents that are scalable and reliable.
Evolve platform architectures for reliability and performance at scale.
Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
