Job summary

ICL is seeking a Housekeeping/Food Service Worker in New York, NY to support shelter operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food service, and ensuring a safe environment for residents.

The position runs 7:00am-3:30pm Friday-Tuesday and is onsite at New Life Shelter. A minimum of one year experience or training is required, along with English literacy and NYS food handler compliance. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience and/or training required.
• Able to read and write English.
• Must pass New York State Health Department requirements for food handlers.
• Work Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of common areas, kitchens, and dining areas.
• Assist with food preparation, serving, and cleanup in accordance with sanitation standards.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and food service equipment.
• Follow infection control, health, and safety procedures.
• Restock supplies and assist with inventory control.
• Remove trash and maintain sanitation of waste areas.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
