Washington, DC, USA Req #2946 Tuesday, June 13, 2023What part will you play? The Onsite AV Service Technician will work at one of our premier clients. Located in Washington, DC. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to “own” your role. You will be the AV subject matter expert onsite, assisting the client staff in supporting all AV, with System Checks, Preventative Maintenance, both in-person and virtual. Experience with a ticketing system (Service Now) would be advantageous. You will be supported by our local Service Team and Field Staff when required. Your input on current state of the AV, potential technical upgrades and working with our project teams will be vital. You will engage with C-level client executives and work closely with IT Managers. The most important requirement for this role is the ability to create and maintain a client relationship which results in superior client satisfaction. This is a full-time role working for Diversified.
Job Functions
- Tech is capable of performing problem determination and problem resolution associated with the technologies deployed at client site.
- Resolve most issues but, for more advanced engineering or programming tasks, will request remote or dispatched support from the Diversified service organization.
- Operate as an extension of client’s staff and report daily to their assigned client site.
- Responsible for ongoing performance and operation of the deployed audio and video technology.
- Provide support for users, meeting, and events within this scope,
- May be involved in the planning and implementation of change or new installation of AV, Video, or related solutions at the client location.
- Shall assist in the utilization, operation, and implementation of the AV/V (audio visual/video) systems located at the customer’s facilities and any local off-site meetings.
- Primary responsibilities for VTC and AV incident management support including problem determination and resolution of AV Systems, Video endpoints and related infrastructure
- Coordinate with client staff to assist in determining AV/V and basic infrastructure requirements for any new conference room or media design
- Coordinate with Diversified and client’s contractors involved with ongoing support of systems and technologies
- Provide on-going operational preventative maintenance checks of all covered rooms and systems and perform any support/maintenance required at that time
- AVSS to be always dressed in proper attire
- Sets up and manages an AV/V maintenance and replacement schedule and inventory for all in-house equipment.
- Develop room and building inventory with current usage and forecasted upgrades.
- Troubleshoots and repairs AV/V problems as required or identifies problems and reports for manufacturer service
- Conforms to client’s change management procedures.
Physical Working Environment:
Normally provided a working area within an office/business environment. Dependent upon the client, this role is often called to support and perform work on systems located throughout the entire breadth of a client’s building(s) and campus grounds. The daily working conditions may have various demands/situational relationships.
What do we require from you?
A high school diploma (or equivalent) is a minimum requirement for this position.
Experience with audio-visual related systems (3-5 years of AV support preferred).
Experience:
- VTC- Working with operation, bridging and administration of video endpoints
- Poly & CISCO, Evertz routers, Ross switchers
- NETWORK- Familiar with connecting to networks- setup/ configuration of IP settings of devices, VLAN Concepts
- AV Control Systems- Experience in the operation and troubleshooting of AV control
- includes Crestron, Cisco, Poly, Evertz systems
- AUDIO - Working with audio systems- mixing, signal flow, signal tracing
- includes Dante, RockNet, MediorNet, Embedded and Analog audio formats
- VIDEO- HD-SDI, IP video, HDMI and analog formats
- NDI and SMPTE 2110 experience/ familiarity is a plus
- FIBER- Familiarity with fiber connectivity of devices,
- Test equipment- working with WFM/ Vector scopes, Audio generators (digital/ analog), Fiber power meters, IP scanner software
