Job summary

3 Lions Logistics, a privately held multi-entity transportation and logistics group, is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant in Salem, NH. The role covers full-cycle accounting across trucking and freight brokerage entities, including billing, payables, receivables and month-end close.

The successful candidate will own intercompany transactions, reconcile ledgers and provide timely financial statements, reporting to leadership and coordinating with external accountants and a fractional CFO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
• At least five years of progressive accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience.
• Demonstrated experience completing a monthly close and preparing financial statements.
• Strong experience with general-ledger reconciliations, accounts payable, customer billing, accounts receivable and collections.
• Working knowledge of accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, debt schedules and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online or a comparable accounting system.
• Strong Excel skills, including reconciliations, supporting schedules and financial analysis.
• Experience with multiple related entities and intercompany transactions.
• CPA certification is not required.

Responsibilities

• Full-Cycle Accounting and Month-End Close: Maintain accurate accounting records for multiple related business entities, record and reconcile transactions, complete monthly close by around day 10, prepare P&L, balance sheets and cash flow.
• Customer Billing, Accounts Receivable and Collections: Own billing after loads, submit invoices within 24-48 hours, monitor aging and provide weekly receivable reports.
• Accounts Payable, Expenses and Reconciliations: Process vendor bills, maintain payment schedules, reconcile statements and year-end records.
• Transportation Accounting and Financial Support: Reconcile revenue and costs, maintain entity separation, support budgeting, forecasting and lender reporting.
• Document accounting procedures and strengthen controls over billing, payments, receipts and reconciliations.
