Job summary

Grant Associates in New York, NY is seeking an on-site Security Officer to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will respond to emergencies, monitor facility activity, and support front desk operations as needed.

The role requires a valid security license, 2+ years in related work, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work independently or with others. You will interact with staff and management while upholding company safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid Security License required
• 2 plus years related work experience in office support, copy or mail services a plus
• High school diploma or GED
• 18+ years of age
• Excellent rapport with a variety of personalities
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Corporate security experience preferred
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others

Responsibilities

• Provides security services to ensure that the environment is safe for employees and visitors
• Remove disruptive customers or be a point of contact for 911/police and/or emergency
• Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
• Escort unauthorized visitors to appropriate exits, rooms or classes
• May assist with front desk coverage
• Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control and accident investigations
• Responds to manager and/or employee requests to intervene with difficult personnel/customers
• Maintain safety by walking the halls and observing the behavior of others
• Exhibit interpersonal skills to relate will customers, staff and managers
• Other duties as assigned
