Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Cybersecurity Analyst to join its security operations team in Welkom on-site. The role focuses on monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats to protect digital assets and infrastructure.

You will work with SIEMs, firewalls, and IDS/IPS, conduct incident investigations, and help implement preventive controls and security policies. A proactive, detail-oriented approach is essential to safeguarding information systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, focusing on network security and incident response.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from various systems (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM) to detect and respond to threats.
• Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and develop incident response plans.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security weaknesses.
• Implement and manage security controls, including access management, encryption, and network segmentation.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures.
• Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
