Whitsons Culinary Group seeks an Assistant Food Service Manager to support daily operations in K-12 school dining, ensure compliance with USDA programs, and drive a high-quality meal program. The role emphasizes on-site leadership, staff training, budget awareness, and strong communication to empower teams and deliver healthy meals to students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent with concentration in food and nutrition or related field.
• ,
• Experience in school nutrition programs preferred.

Responsabilités

• Support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations across multiple school kitchens.
• Assist with scheduling, inventory, food safety and compliance with USDA nutrition programs.
• Train, mentor and support team members to promote a positive kitchen culture.
• Monitor budgetary goals, help manage costs and commodities.
• Assist with audits, inspections, and ensure readiness for reviews.
• Spend 80% of day on-site in schools supporting teams.
• 3+ years of food service management, preferably in K-12 or institutional setting.
• Culinary background with knowledge of recipes, production, and portion control.
