Job summary

Owensville Elementary School in Owensville, Missouri is seeking an On-site Staff Childcare Aide to support licensed staff in delivering learning activities and supervising students.

Responsibilities include reinforcing lessons, assisting with personal care, clerical duties, and contributing to a safe, confidential school environment. Requires Missouri paraprofessional certification or 60 college credits, and background clearance.

Qualifications

• Valid Missouri paraprofessional certificate and/or a minimum of 60 college credit hours.
• Criminal justice fingerprint and background clearance
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board and/or Superintendent may find appropriate

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced and outlined by certified staff.
• Assists the certified staff in devising special strategies for reinforcing learning materials and skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities.
• Assist student with personal care as needed.
• Serves as the chief source of information and help to any guest teacher assigned in the absence of the special education teacher.
• Performs clerical, classroom maintenance, and instructional duties as assigned by the certified staff.
• Alerts the certified staff to any problem or special information about an individual student.
• Properly supervises students at all times and as requested by building administration.
• When requested, serves as a resource person to the General Education Intervention Team and/ or IEP Team.
• Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in school environment and community.
• Participates in in-service training programs as approved.
• Maintains safe working environment and encourages colleagues to be safety minded in the performance of all school-related duties.
• Performs any and all other related duties as assigned by the building principal.
• Adheres to and follows all deadlines and requirements as presented by administration / state / federal law.
• Attends all meetings as requested by building and district administration.
• Maintains strict confidentiality as required by law.
• Commits to life-long learning and growth.
• Performs any other related duties as assigned by the building principal.
• Follow schedule developed by building principal and classroom teacher to meet assigned obligations.
• Supervise students in the lunchroom, recess and during bus duty times as assigned by building principal.
