Job summary

Danis Construction Inc is seeking a Safety Engineer who leads from the field, supports project teams, and strengthens our safety-first culture. This hands-on role focuses on keeping workers safe on active sites and improving project outcomes.

You will collaborate with the Safety Manager and field staff to implement tailored safety plans, conduct audits, train teams, and investigate incidents. Travel to local sites will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years in a dedicated safety role within the construction industry.
• Certifications: CHST, OHST, ASP, CSP, or OSHA 500 (preferred but not required).
• Strong understanding of construction operations, OSHA standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, coaching, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support jobsite safety programs from preconstruction through closeout.
• Facilitate safety planning meetings and pre-job reviews to identify risks.
• Coach teams on safe work practices with real-time field feedback.
• Conduct regular site audits and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead and support incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Liaise between field employees, management, and outside parties.
• Represent Danis in local safety associations and groups.
• Identify and deliver targeted safety training based on site conditions.
• Support corporate safety initiatives and internal training sessions.
• Solve field safety problems with practical, technical solutions.
