Job summary

Austal USA in Mobile, AL seeks a Safety Coordinator/Safety Supervisor to support the HS&E department. You will conduct on-site inspections, assist with investigations, perform safety surveys, and provide first response medical aid.

The role requires strong communication and the ability to work across teams in a fast-paced shipyard environment. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of EHS experience, OSHA training, and willingness to obtain additional certifications.

Qualifications

• OSHA safety training certifications in 29 CFR 1915/1910/1926.
• Willingness to obtain medical first responder training within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to work in close and confined spaces and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist HS&E in complying with safety policies and regulations.
• Perform site and equipment inspections and assist in accident investigations.
• Conduct safety surveys to evaluate health, safety and environmental conditions.
• Provide first response medical assistance until Austal medical team arrives.
• Calibrate and interpret air monitoring equipment; manage monthly inspections.
