Job summary

OctaPulse is building computer vision and robotics for aquaculture, aiming to move from demos to reliable real-world automation. You will own robot learning end to end, working closely with mechanical design to ensure dependable manipulation of wet, slippery fish on real hardware.

You’ll be one of the first robotics hires in a fully on-site Dallas, TX role, with up to 25% travel to farms and processing sites.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and ability to read/patch research code.
• Hands-on robotics experience with real hardware.
• Rigorous evaluation using multiple trials and log analysis.
• Familiarity with calibration, cabling and hardware integration.
• Experience with robot-learning approaches and open-source robotics tools.

Responsibilities

• Own robot learning end-to-end, from data collection to real hardware performance.
• Collaborate with mechanical design to ensure reliable manipulation of delicate objects.
• Develop honest, real-world evaluation frameworks and report findings to the team.
• Iterate toward more capable robots and scalable data infrastructure for learnings.
