Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Dover, NJ seeks a hands-on Group Leader for the Receiving department. You will direct incoming logistics, material handling, and verification to maintain production flow, using internal systems and Excel for inventory accuracy.

The role requires 3–5 years in shipping/receiving or warehouse ops, experience supervising teams, and lean/AS9100 familiarity. First shift, with overtime as needed. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position; Candidates residing within a 50 miles radius of Dover NJ will only be considered.
• 3–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing or high-precision industrial environment.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel skills (tracking sheets, sorting and filtering data, and running basic reports).
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and to stand or walk for extended periods during a shift.

Responsibilities

• Safely manage the shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of materials and products.
• Supervise, train, and mentor receiving personnel, and establish training processes for new employees.
• Oversee the unloading, inspection, and verification of incoming shipments for freight damage, correct quantities, and proper documentation (packing slips, Certificates of Analysis, and Certificates of Conformance).
• Maintain rigorous inventory control by logging, updating, and tracking records and workflows in internal company systems and Excel.
• Monitor inventory levels during receiving, identify items approaching minimum stock levels, and submit timely reorder alerts to Purchasing and Planning.
• Complete inventory cycle counts on schedule and investigates discrepancies.
• Partner closely with Quality Assurance (QA) to coordinate material routing.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams at all levels and with external partners.
• Maintain accurate files, records, and basic operational reports.
• Work flexible hours, including overtime, as needed to meet shipment deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
