Job summary

TAR in Odessa, Texas is seeking a hands-on Receiving Clerk to manage on-site supplier deliveries, inspect items against purchase orders, and ensure accurate entry into inventory so project teams have what they need.

You will be the go-to contact for drivers, perform regular cycle counts, process returns and damaged goods, and maintain clean, auditable records in our inventory software and spreadsheets, while operating a forklift safely.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification with a record of safe operation.
• Experience counting and reconciling inventory against purchase orders.
• Familiarity with returns, overshipment, and damaged-goods processes.
• Basic Excel, data entry, sorting and filtering.
• Exposure to inventory management software and quick learning.
• Clear, direct communication with suppliers, drivers, and internal teams.
• Attention to detail and thorough follow-through on discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Own reception as the on-site point of contact for all supplier deliveries: confirm arrival windows, direct drivers to the right unloading area, and check every shipment against the purchase order and packing list before it is accepted. Deliveries may arrive onsite outside of regular business hours (later evening or weekends).
• Physically count all inbound material and on-hand inventory, running regular cycle counts so site inventory records match what is actually on the ground.
• Run the returns, overshipment, and damage processes end to end: document discrepancies with photos and notes at the time of delivery, notify procurement and the supplier the same day, and track each issue through credit, replacement, or return.
• Record every receipt, adjustment, and count in TAR's inventory software and Excel trackers, keeping data current and auditable so procurement and site leadership can make decisions from accurate numbers.
• Operate a forklift safely to unload, stage, and put away deliveries, keeping receiving and laydown areas organized, labeled, and clear.
• Flag shortages, recurring supplier issues, and incoming delivery risks early to procurement and site leads so they are resolved before they hit the schedule.
