Job summary

Intertek is seeking a 3rd Party Vendor Surveillance Inspector in Manitowoc, WI. The role is an on-site, temporary position (six months) requiring 40–50 hours per week.

You will execute rigorous on-site inspections of generator enclosures, LV/MV systems, and mechanical assemblies, logging NCRs, and ensuring conformance to AWS and ISO standards. You will use BIM360/ACC/CxAlloy for digital inspections, perform dimensional metrology, and collaborate with supplier quality teams to close deficiencies

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on quality inspection experience in industrial manufacturing, heavy power generation, automotive, or aerospace.
• Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and structural drawings.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ISO 9606, or BS EN welding standards and inspection techniques.
• Strong understanding of LV/MV electrical distributions, insulation testing, grounding safety.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools and laser alignment devices.
• Experience completing digital checklists and tracking NCRs via tablet/laptop platforms.
• ISO 9001 internal auditor or welding certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Site Quality Inspections & Deficiency Tracking per inspection guidelines.
• Log non-conformances and defects with photographic evidence in BIM360/ACC/CxAlloy.
• Partner with supplier quality managers to drive root-cause analysis and NCR closure.
• Execute enclosure final checks: door alignment, weather sealing, insulation, louvers.
• Witness hydrostatic/pneumatic tests and verify piping loops per specs.
• Verify CTQ envelope dimensions and mounting hole locations with laser tools.
• Audit LV/MV systems, control panels, breakers, and grounding integrity.
• Perform wiring tests, verify torque marks, and confirm proper labeling.
• Observe generator load bank tests and insulation resistance checks.
• Inspect welds, review NDT docs, and ensure absence of porosity or undercut.
• Conduct FOD checks and sign off on final coat thickness and transport readiness.
