Job summary

Mosaic, a growing interiors distributor, is seeking a Purchasing Assistant for our Chantilly, VA office. This is a fully on-site role focusing on purchasing, vendor coordination and inventory planning—not a warehouse or labor position.

In this role you will review purchase orders, track orders with suppliers, and maintain accurate product costs in the ERP. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in purchasing and solid Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, operations, or inventory planning.
• Basic to intermediate Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.

Purchasing Assistant – Inventory & Operations

About Mosaic

Mosaic is a growing interiors distributor supporting builders and designers with cabinetry, tile, lighting, plumbing, and more. With 9 locations and a central servicing center, our Purchasing team plays an important role in keeping products moving, inventory accurate, and supplier relationships strong.

We are looking for an organized, dependable, detail-oriented person who enjoys problem-solving and communicating with others to join our Purchasing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is early in their career or a recent college graduate and interested in building a career in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field. Previous Purchasing experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.

This is a fully on-site, office-based position in Chantilly, VA. It is not a warehouse or physical labor role.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work closely with our Purchasing team, suppliers, and internal locations to help make sure orders are accurate and products arrive when needed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Review purchase orders for accuracy
• Track open orders and follow up with suppliers on order status and delivery dates
• Communicate with suppliers and internal teams regarding orders, product availability, and delivery updates
• Enter and maintain accurate product costs and pricing in our inventory system
• Learn our purchasing systems, processes, products, and supplier relationships

Requirements

• Willing to learn and take on increasing responsibility

Experience with Excel, ERP/Inventory systems, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations, or Inventory is a plus, but not required.

A degree or coursework in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or a related field is helpful, but we will also consider candidates with other educational or professional backgrounds who demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
