Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to evaluate and treat inmates, detainees, or residents showing signs of psychiatric disorders.

You will supervise nursing staff and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental healthcare. You will provide medication management, coordinate referrals for psychotherapy or inpatient care, perform suicide risk assessments, and ensure timely documentation in the electronic health record while adhering to

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Unrestricted APRN-PMH license in the state of practice.
• ANCC or ANA APRN-PMH certification.
• Two years of psychiatric clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients referred for psychiatric assessment.
• Provide medication management for psychiatric interventions.
• Refer patients to psychotherapy or inpatient care as needed.
• Perform suicide risk assessments and provide emergency psychiatric care.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other treatment team members.
• Adjust maintenance medications per clinical judgment and policy.
• Document all services in the medical record and complete timely notes.
• Conduct ongoing quality of care reviews and participate in education.
