Job summary

The GEO Group seeks a Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric to evaluate inmates, detainees, or residents with signs of behavioral health disorders and to supervise nursing staff providing mental health services on-site. This is an independent contractor role (1099) with Forty hours per week, paid at a fixed hourly rate.

Responsibilities include psychiatric medication management, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and referral to psychotherapy or inpatient care when needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of clinical experience as a psychiatric provider preferred.
• Unrestricted APRN-PMH license in the facility state.
• ANCC or ANA certification as APRN-PMH.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients referred for psychiatric assessment.
• Provides medication management for psychiatric interventions.
• Refers patients to psychotherapy or inpatient care when necessary.
• Performs suicide risk assessment as appropriate.
• Provides emergency psychiatric care as required.
