Job summary

GEO on-site Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric, providing evaluation and treatment for inmates and detainees with behavioral health disorders. You will supervise nursing staff and work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental health care.

The role requires an APRN-PMH license, DEA, and 2+ years of psychiatric clinical experience; onsite facility-based practice with 40 hours per week. Independent contractor status (1099) with malpractice coverage is provided.

Qualifications

Master's or Doctoral Degree from accredited Nursing Program.
An unrestricted APRN-PMH license in the facility's state.
ANCC or ANA certification as APRN-PMH.
Two (2) years of clinical psychiatric experience preferred.
DEA number and unrestricted license.

Responsibilities

Evaluate inmates, detainees, or residents with psychiatric/behavioral health disorders.
Provide medication management for psychiatric interventions.
Refer patients for psychotherapy or inpatient care when needed.
Perform suicide risk assessments and emergency psychiatric care as required.
Collaborate with psychiatrists and treatment team; coordinate patient care.
Document services in medical records and participate in quality reviews.
