Job summary

Telcom Construction, LLC is seeking an entry-level Project Specialist to support our project teams on-site in Des Moines, Iowa. You’ll help set up new projects, maintain files, and assist with documentation, permits, scheduling updates, and progress tracking to keep work moving smoothly from start to finish.

You will learn project activity tracking, reporting, and billing while supporting teammates and adhering to safety initiatives. Travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable with basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to read and understand project instructions, work orders, and reports.
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, word processing, PDFs). Google Workspace experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up new projects and keeping project files organized and up to date.
• Support project documentation, including permits, scheduling updates, and progress tracking.
• Help review and prepare project paperwork for final closeouts.
• Learn how to track project activity and support accurate reporting and billing.
• Provide assistance to other project team members as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Support company policies, procedures, and safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Some travel may be required.
