Job summary

HireIQ partners with an engineering consultancy to hire a Project Accountant who combines project finance with general accounting.

This on-site role in Pine Brook, NJ, involves managing project setup, budgets, billing, GL activity, and month-end close, while collaborating with project managers.

Ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 1–2 years of project accounting, strong Excel, and familiarity with Unanet (Deltek/Vantagepoint/Ajera a plus). Base salary up to $100,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance.
• 1–2 years project accounting experience in a project-based business.
• Experience with GL, journal entries, reconciliations and month-end close.
• Strong Excel skills and communication with project managers.
• Experience with Unanet is advantageous; Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint / Ajera relevant.

Responsibilities

• Manage project setup, budgets, billing rates and records.
• Prepare project invoices and resolve billing queries.
• Monitor project costs, unbilled revenue, WIP and profitability.
• Collaborate with project managers to review budgets and variances.
• Support general ledger accounting and month-end close.
• Assist with financial reporting and accounts receivable.
