Job summary

Gelest, Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is hiring a Process Improvement Specialist to join our team in Morrisville, PA. This role supports the Production group by developing Standard Operating Procedures, troubleshooting technical problems, and leading Continuous Improvement projects.

The Process Improvement Specialist will serve as the primary technical resource on their shift and assist the shift supervisor in leading the shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field required.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and set an example.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work on a shift and with personnel.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work in high-paced, non-climate-controlled environment.
• On-site requirement; travel generally not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Document current production processes with clarity and completeness.
• Escalate technical concerns from shift personnel as needed.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement projects in production.
• Collaborate with Lead Operator and shift Supervisor to ensure safe, effective processes.
• Communicate project status and completion dates.
• Follow priorities set by Process Improvement Manager and contribute ideas.
• Prepare reports or presentations for training or status updates.
• Prepare shift hand-off information and summaries for Operations team.
