Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a capable assembler for on-site work in Skokie, IL. You will perform a variety of assembly tasks, follow SOPs, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while supporting line setups and quality checks.

Strong problem-solving and math skills, plus the ability to read procedures, are essential. This role requires flexibility and a readiness to learn within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply integers, fractions and decimals).
• Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
• Ability to read and understand procedure, routers and instruction.
• Flexibility in work assignments.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform a variety of assembly operations, complying with all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
• Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment following established Standard Operating Procedures.
• Assist with line set ups, start up and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
• Maintain quality standards as described in the quality system by visually inspect parts, components and subassemblies.
• Recognize and solve minor problems that arise.
• Perform any necessary material handling requirements of the job.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned.
