Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Skokie, IL is seeking a on-site Quality Inspector to ensure conformity to blueprints and inspect hardware with precision tools.

You will review calibration logs, ERP data, and material certificates to maintain QMS compliance, while coordinating with internal departments to sustain control over materials and processes. The role requires a minimum of 3 years related experience, with preference for metal forming, calibration, and GD&T expertise.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training.
• Experience in metal forming preferred.
• Extensive experience in calibration and GD&T.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office; ERP & CAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure product conformity to blueprint.
• Inspect hardware using various inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, comparator, height gage, indicator, profilometer, hardness tester, etc.
• Review calibration log & schedule for Inspection & Mfg areas.
• Review work order for completion of operations and required documentation.
• Review ERP (JD Edwards) system for required retained information.
• Review raw material certificates and ensure conformity to industry or internal standards.
• Ensure products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
• Interface with internal departments to engage in activities that ensure continuous control over material, services and products.
• Create and modify comparator overlays.
• Other duties as assigned.
