Job summary

Greater New Jersey Behavioral Health LLC is seeking a compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide on-site psychiatric care at its Lawrence Township, NJ location. This 1099 independent contractor role offers daytime, as-needed scheduling with comprehensive psychiatric assessments and medication management.

Applicants should have PMHNP-BC, New Jersey RN/APN licensure, prescriptive authority, and 1–2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited advanced practice nursing program with preparation as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• Active New Jersey RN license and APN certification with psychiatric specialty.
• PMHNP-BC certification.
• New Jersey prescriptive authority with CDS/DEA registrations when required.
• 1–2 years of relevant psychiatric or behavioral health experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments to identify mental health needs and inform treatment planning.
• Provide psychiatric medication management, including prescribing and monitoring treatment response.
• Collaborate with therapists and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Evaluate and monitor individuals with mental health and co-occurring conditions.
• Provide medication education and counseling to clients and families.
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation (evaluations, notes, treatment recommendations).
• Promote trauma-informed psychiatric care in line with standards and regulations.
