Job summary

MasTec, Inc. in the United States is seeking a skilled helper to assist journeymen with planning, layout, installation and testing of industrial piping and related systems on site.

You will support safety protocols and coordinate with crews to ensure timely, quality work. This full-time role requires 3–4 years of construction experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work extended shifts.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• High School Diploma or GED Certification (preferred)
• Experience working in one or more construction craft roles as a helper or laborer, or a combination of work experience and training
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret measuring tools to perform task accurately.
• Fully Understand Plant North and drawing coordinates.
• Thread, bevel, and cut pipe.
• Use hand and power tools to fit and install pipe and piping systems.
• Assist in installing valves, couplings and other fittings; disassemble damaged or worn pipe.
• Produce quality work meeting plans and industry standards.
• Communicate with Foreman regarding problems, materials, or hazards.
