Job summary

MasTec is seeking a construction helper to assist journeymen in planning, layout, installation, testing and repair of industrial systems. You will work on pipe installations, valves, fittings and related components, following plans, specifications, and safety standards on large-scale projects.

The role requires 3–4 years of related experience or training, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work up to 12-hour shifts and travel up to 90% to project sites.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• High School Diploma or GED Certification (preferred)
• Experience in one or more construction craft roles as a helper or laborer; basic knowledge of craft
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret measuring tools to perform tasks accurately.
• Understand Plant North and drawing coordinates.
• Perform tasks including threading, beveling and cutting pipe.
• Use hand and power tools to fit and install pipe and pipe systems.
• Assist in installing valves, couplings and fittings; remove damaged pipe.
